Dr. Joh Robertson
Volunteer Non-Executive Director
Joh brings over 19 years of veterinary experience to his work, with a deep commitment to clinical excellence, animal welfare, and compassionate leadership. As Director and Lead Veterinarian at Forth Valley Veterinary Clinic, he leads a team of more than 35 staff and fosters a values-driven, collaborative culture. His dedication extends beyond companion animals—Joh is a powerful advocate for Tasmania’s native wildlife.
In 2023, Joh and his partner, Alana, co-founded the Tasmania Wildlife Hospital (TWH), a registered charity designed to bridge a critical gap in urgent wildlife care across northern and western Tasmania. Seed-funded by their clinic, TWH leverages in-house facilities and expertise to provide timely triage, assessment, and treatment of injured native animals. Since opening, the hospital has recorded a 300% increase in wildlife presentations, highlighting the scale of need and the hospital’s impact.
Joh’s approach blends medical precision with empathy, business strategy with frontline care, and sector leadership with on-the-ground action. His ongoing vision is clear: a stronger, more connected wildlife response across Tasmania. With every patient treated and every volunteer empowered, Joh is helping build a future where Tasmania’s wildlife has the best possible chance to survive and thrive.
