Dr. Aimee Catalan

Volunteer Non-Executive Director

Aimee brings a compassionate, community-focused approach to her role with Wildlife Network Tasmania.  Her professional experience in health, science communication, research and education is combined with a genuine passion for wildlife welfare and environmental advocacy.

Throughout her career, Aimee has worked across areas including research, stakeholder engagement, and education to help translate complex information into meaningful, accessible messages to improve outcomes for communities. Aimee holds degrees in Biological Science,  Secondary Education, and a PhD in Science Communication. She is passionate about building connections between people, science and conservation, and believes strong collaboration and shared knowledge are essential for creating lasting change within the wildlife rehabilitation sector.

Alongside her professional background, Aimee has a deep appreciation for Tasmania’s natural environment and the volunteers who dedicate themselves to caring for injured and orphaned wildlife. She is particularly passionate about helping strengthen support systems, communication pathways and community understanding around wildlife care.

At WNT, Aimee brings thoughtful leadership, strategic insight and a strong values-driven approach centred around compassion, collaboration and positive community impact.
