Get Started

Join wildlife veterinarian Dr Anne Fowler for a full day exploring the specialised care and rehabilitation of Tasmania’s dasyurids, including quolls, Tasmanian devils and antechinus.

Dasyurids may present into rehabilitation less frequently than some of Tasmania’s other native mammals, but when they do, carers need the knowledge and confidence to respond to their particular needs. This workshop provides a rare opportunity for rehabilitators to develop their understanding of this fascinating group of marsupials and build their capacity to care for them.

The day will cover marsupial nutrition, feeding and housing, common conditions encountered in care, treatment considerations, rehabilitation and release. Anne will also draw on published research into released animals to explore how rehabilitation practices can support successful outcomes beyond care.

With a strong focus on practical husbandry and rehabilitation, the workshop is ideal for carers looking to upskill, broaden their species knowledge and develop their capability to rehabilitate dasyurids.

A full-colour manual will also be available to purchase from Dr Fowler on the day.
