About The Course
This blended learning course provides wildlife rehabilitators and rescuers with practical foundations in avian first aid, stabilisation, and assisted feeding.
Participants will first complete an online pre-learning module (approximately 1–2 hours), covering:
- bird stabilisation principles
- basic avian anatomy
- crop and tube feeding theory
- handling and restraint
- common risks and complications
A short quiz must be completed before progressing to the practical workshop.
Once completed, participants can book into the full-day (8 hour) face-to-face workshop, where they will build on their online learning through hands-on practical training, including:
- bird assessment and stabilisation
- wing wrapping and basic splinting
- crop and tube feeding
- cadaver-based practice
- practical handling and restraint skills
This course is designed to improve confidence, practical skills, and supportive care outcomes for birds in rehabilitation.
